Pfadfinder
Pfadfinder is a mobile prototype for travel planning. It’s a concept which connects vacation planning with the aspect of intermodal mobility. Users can easily search for available means of transportation in order to create their individual travel experience.
Target and challenge
The main goal for this web app concept is to provide an online service for travel planning, that engages the explorer, is easy to use for maximum freedom and inspires to realize dreams. The target group is the individual traveller from explorer to nostalgics.
Problems solved
To fulfill the needs of the user for their journey, it is necessary to gather knowledge about the four implicit characteristics that matter: time, type of traveler, place and means of transport. To set up a journey these factors need to be entered in an individual order, depending on the users status and mindset.
Outcomes and achievements
The first information architecture was tested via paper prototype in a mini usability lab. Due to the feedback the hierachy and wording have been optimized within the next iteration.
The final prototype was implemented as responsive web app via Axure and shows a first idea about the look and feel.
